2018 Family Support Conference: The Story of Our lIves

On October 19th & 20, 2018  hundreds of people from all around Oregon gathered for UCP Oregon’s 2018 Family Support Conference. There were over 20 different workshops, 36 speakers, spread out over 4 conference rooms at the Red Lion Hotel in Jantzen Beach.

​Tyler Jones, the conference’s keynote speaker, kicked off the event with “The Story of Our Lives.” 

The presentation told the honest and heartfelt truth about the journey of being a parent whose child has a developmental disability. The workshops that followed were led by industry professionals, advocates, and specialist who gave attendees vital information to move forward on their own journeys.

Guests who attended had a lot to say about their experience at the conference. One guest wrote, “I learned new things (again)! Even at 25, there are new strategies for better living with cerebral palsy." Another said, “This was my very first conference and I collected much needed information." The event’s workshops, showroom, and vendors offered a wide variety of resources for people to experience.
