UCP's Neighborhood Waves Program

UCP is coming to your neighborhood with our new Neighborhood Waves program.

Each month, we'll pick a different neighborhood.  During that month, we will be encouraging the people we support to go and explore that neighborhood.  They'll try out trails, visit shops and restaurants, and make new friends.

We're sure to hear some great stories from each neighborhood, which we plan to share in our eNewsletter, on our website, on our Facebook page, and through Twitter, as ways to promote and give back to the neighborhood.

Program Goals

Encourage community inclusion by supporting the people we support to explore activities and  businesses in the selected neighborhood.

Encourage employment options for the people we support, as they explore job opportunities in the selected neighborhood.

Educate community businesses about disabilities in general, and about support programs at United Cerebral Palsy.

Indirectly educate our neighbors about disabilities through exposure and positive interactions.

Develop relationships with community businesses and neighbors who may be interested in supporting our programs through donations or volunteerism.
